Our new Sovereign Grade Ancient Madder Ties are constructed from authentic ancient madder silk, screen-printed in the United Kingdom, and handmade to our exacting Sovereign Grade standards.
Ancient Madder is a traditional method of dying twill silk fabric treated with gum arabic, using an indigo bath. This vibrant indigo is what gives the silk ties such striking colors. The unique soft feel known as 'chalky hand' is also an exclusive feature of Ancient Madder ties, making them a luxurious and much sought-after choice.
All of our Ancient Madder ties are available in both a standard 150 cm x 8.5 cm and an extra-long 160 cm x 9.0 cm lengths.
