Also known as Crème 1925, Saphir Médaille d'Or Pommadier Cream Shoe Polish is a premium leather cream blending seven waxes (including beeswax, carnauba, and montan) with shea butter oil and turpentine spirit. For smooth leather mostly, it nourishes, protects, and enhances your shoes with a rich, transparent tint, letting the original patina shine through or building nuanced new shades when layered. Not suitable for suede, nubuck, patent, or painted leathers.
Selecting a Color: An exact match isn't always possible, the pigments are semi-transparent, designed to enhance your leather rather than cover it. Lighter colors keep the original shade dominant; darker tints add depth and richer patina. You can also match by undertone: warm shades like cognac, sienna, or burgundy bring out warmth already in the leather. See our Cream Polish Help Page for finish-by-finish recommendations.
Application: Remove dirt and dust, then buff lightly with a brush. Apply sparingly with a cotton cloth or applicator, massaging in circular motions (wear gloves if applying by hand). Let dry for one hour, then polish with a bristle brush and finish with a soft cloth or glove. Once a base coat is applied, just re-buff after wear to maintain the finish.
