This exceptionally rare S.T. Dupont Ligne 2 lighter was crafted in 1989 and represents a true prototype from a highly limited experimental series. Executed in genuine Macassar Ebony wood, this piece is distinguished by its natural, unlacquered finish, allowing the dramatic dark brown and black grain of the wood to remain fully visible. Unlike standard S.T. Dupont wooden lighters, which are typically sealed under lacquer, this prototype was intentionally left untreated, highlighting the raw beauty and organic character of the material. Macassar Ebony is among the most prized exotic woods, valued for its density, contrast, and visual depth. Produced as a prototype rather than a commercial release, this lighter occupies a unique position within S.T. Dupont’s design history. Preserved as a complete original set, this piece has never been filled and is therefore offered as untested, remaining in pristine original condition.
