Dupont Ligne 1 Large lighter, crafted in the late 1970s, is a rare early-production example featuring one of the Maison’s most distinctive decorative finishes, commonly referred to by collectors as the Hermès pattern. Executed in a luxurious heavy 20-micron gold-plated finish, this elegant model perfectly reflects S.T. Dupont’s renowned precision craftsmanship and timeless French design.

A particularly desirable feature of this early example is the presence of both the original “20µ” hallmark and “Plaqué G” stamp on the underside. These factory markings confirm the authentic heavy 20-micron gold finish and identify it as one of the earliest Ligne 1 Large productions. While later models continued to receive the same heavy gold plating, many were no longer stamped with these markings, making early examples such as this increasingly sought after by collectors.

The lighter also bears an additional factory inspection/workshop stamp on the underside, a rarely encountered marking that further highlights its early production history and collector appeal.
