The Object by Murmmr brings together thoughtful design and exceptional European craftsmanship. Made from 5.6 pounds of Czech crystal with precision milled German brass and hand finished Portuguese cork, each piece is produced by family run manufacturers with generations of experience.
Designed to contain ash, smoke, and odor, the precision fitted crystal dome slowly extinguishes whatever is resting inside. Lift the dome later to relight and enjoy, while the movement of smoke captured within the crystal becomes part of the experience. Unlike The Object: Cigar, this version does not feature the dedicated cigar rest, giving the three base a more versatile design for cigarettes, palo santo, and more. Each Object features an inset cork base, solid brass sphere knocker, and components that easily disassemble for deep cleaning.
Limited to an edition of 230, every piece is individually numbered and accompanied by a unique Proof of Originality matched specifically to the ashtray. Each arrives in a custom wooden crate made in Germany.
Complimentary engraving of up to 25 characters, including spaces, is available on the bottom beside the limited edition number. Engraving must be requested separately by email or phone immediately after purchase. Engraved pieces are final sale.
Murmmr approaches the ashtray as an object of design rather than something to be hidden away. Founded by designer Greg Long after more than thirty years of creating consumer products, Murmmr was built around a desire to slow down and focus on making one object at a time, with careful attention given to every detail.
Each piece is produced in collaboration with small, family owned European workshops and skilled craftspeople, including generations of experienced glassmakers. Crystal, metal, and wood are carefully brought together to create ashtrays that are as much decorative objects as they are functional pieces.
At the center of the design is Murmmr’s distinctive crystal dome. Created to address both the appearance and aroma of a traditional ashtray, the dome also captures the movement of smoke inside, turning something normally fleeting into part of the experience.
Every piece is individually inspected before engraving, numbering, and final assembly. Metalwork is carefully polished, wood components are hand finished, and each completed piece is accompanied by a matching numbered Proof of Originality.
